Richmond star Jack Riewoldt claims the Tigers will need to come up with a variety of options up forward if they are to break North Melbourne's stacked defence on Friday night.

Coming off their first loss of the AFL season, the ladder-leading Kangaroos take on the resurgent Tigers, who head into the showdown at Bellerive Oval on the back of three straight wins.

"They play a very strong brand of defensive football ... we just need to continually have good movement from our forwards and our mids and try and find as many avenues to goal as possible," Riewoldt said.
